It also means the conversation is yours to end. Either person can leave at any moment, and leaving closes the session entirely. The next match is a fresh room, a fresh face, and a fresh start.
Focus changes the conversation
When nobody is performing, people relax within the first minute — you can watch it happen on camera. Shoulders drop, sentences get longer, and the conversation stops sounding like content and starts sounding like talk. That shift is the entire product.
Focused does not mean serious. Plenty of private chats are two people trading terrible jokes or comparing what they are cooking. The point is that whatever the conversation wants to be, it gets to be that without a crowd steering it.
Private, with guardrails
A closed room should never trap you in it. All the standard controls travel into every private session: skip to move on, block to prevent re-contact, report to flag rule-breaking for community review. Verified profiles are clearly labeled before you ever enter a conversation.
One honest note: no video platform can technically prevent the person across from you from recording their own screen. Privacy tools do a lot; your judgment does the rest. Keep early conversations light, and never let anyone pressure you on camera.
